2019 Spring Practice Schedule

To help Norwalk Junior Lacrosse parents plan for the 2019 spring season, following are practice schedules.

While we will make every effort to adhere to these schedules, but they are subject to change based on registration numbers.

In addition during the season they WILL CHANGE in response to weather, field conditions (especially at Veterans Park), the periodic availability of the FieldTurf fields at both high schools and conflicts. Therefore, if you have any doubts, it is imperative that you check your email and this norwalklax.org home page before leaving for any practice.

These schedules presuppose a April 1 start, but for Veterans Park, that depends on field conditions.

GIRLS INDOOR PRACTICES: All girls teams have three scheduled indoor practices at Sono Field House in March. You will be notified of the dates and times by end of February. If you have any questions about these practices, contact Karen O'Brien-White (njlgirlslax@gmail.com) or Summer Gigliotti (njlcoach5@gmail.com)

BOYS MARCH PRACTICES: A separate notice will be sent listing a full schedule of boys team practices during March on the FieldTurf field at Nathan Hale. Direct any questions about boys practices to Coach Corry (norwalkboyscoordinator@gmail.com).

If you haven't already seen it, the following link will take you to a terrific documentary video about the origins, history, growth, and future of both men's and women's lacrosse. It is well worth the fifty-five minutes it runs.

The documentary does, however, omit one fascinating detail. James Naismith, credited with inventing basketball while teaching at Springfield College, was a Canadian and a lacrosse player. So it's not that lacrosse is a lot like basketball ... it's that basketball is a lot like lacrosse.
